Explanation

(This amendment adds $3.8 million each year from the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) block grant for a third round of grants for the the Employment for TANF Participants Program for those applicants who did not receive awards in the second round of grants. The Virginia Department of Social Services received 25 applications requesting more than $8.6 million. This will fully fund the requests of qualified applicants that received partial funding in the second round of grants. This program is designed to move low-income individuals out of poverty through obtaining and retaining competitive employment with the prospect of a career path and wage growth.)
