Page 310, after line 14, insert:

"W. Out of this appropriation, $208,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to the Rx Partnership to operate the Access to Medication Program, which provides discounted generic medication to low-income Virginians. The contract with Rx Partnership shall require the organization to submit a report to the Chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees detailing the program outcomes by November 1 of each year."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $208,000 the second year from the general fund for the Rx Partnership to operate the Access to Medication Program, which provides discounted generic medication to low-income Virginians. Language is added to require a report on the funding to the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees detailing the program outcomes by November 1 of each year. The Access to Medication program provides Virginia Free and Charitable Clinics with access to generic medication. Through the program generic medication is purchased in bulk through group purchasing models at a significantly lower cost.)
