"A.1. The Department shall develop a statewide response plan addressing sex trafficking in the Commonwealth, to include (i) development of guidelines and standards of treatment for victims of sex trafficking, (ii) overseeing the development of a standardized curriculum for person convicted of procuring sex services, and (iii) providing training on awareness of sex trafficking.
2. Beginning December 1, 2019, the Department shall provide a report on its recommendations and activities no later than December 1 of each year.
3. Included in the amounts appropriated for this item is $145,000 to implement the requirements of Paragraph A.1. of this item."
(This amendment provides $145,000 from the general fund the second year for the Department of Criminal Justice Services to designate a Sex Trafficking Response Coordinator position to develop a statewide response plan to address sex trafficking in Virginia, pursuant to House Bill 2576. This is a recommendation of the Virginia State Crime Commission.)
