Explanation

(This amendment provides an appropriation to the Corrections Special Reserve Fund to reflect the estimated impact on utilization of beds in the Commonwealth’s Adult Correctional Centers resulting in changes in criminal sentencing pursuant to House Bill 2583, which would require any individual convicted of violating a protective order while in possession of a firearm to serve a mandatory minimum of three years, running consecutively with any other sentence.)
