"YYY.  Effective July 1, 2019, the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the State Plan for Medical Assistance to increase the reimbursement rate for primary care and specialty physician services to 75 percent of the equivalent Medicare rate if such service is currently reimbursed less that 75 percent of the Medicare rate.  The department shall ensure through its contracts with manged care organizations that the rate increase is reflected in their rates to providers.  The department shall have authority to implement these rate changes prior to the completion of the regulatory process."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $40 million from the general fund and a like amount of federal Medicaid matching funds the second year to increase Medicaid reimbursement to 75 percent of the equivalent Medicare fee for service and managed care to primary care physicians and specialists who are currently reimbursed less than seventy-five percent of Medicare rates.)
