Notwithstanding the provisions of § 10.1-2132, paragraph C, of the Code of Virginia, $10,250,000 of the amount deposited to the Water Quality Improvement Fund for the cooperative nonpoint source pollution program shall be distributed to the Potomac-Shenandoah watershed.  Of the remaining amount, $3,500,000 will be distributed within the Chesapeake Bay Basin and $3,500,000 will be distributed in areas outside the Chesapeake Bay watershed.".

Explanation
(This amendment makes technical corrections to embedded text, and provides language to override provisions of the Water Quality Improvement Act governing the distribution of nonpoint source pollution grants between the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay with approved nutrient reduction plans and those river basins outside of the Potomac-Shenandoah watershed. The introduced budget bill incorrectly designated an additional $1,360,000 general fund dollars each year for deposit into the Water Quality Improvement Fund. These funds will be used by the Department for programs outside the purpose of the Water Quality Improvement Fund, specifically technical assistance and public education programs for the Potomac-Shenandoah river basin.)
