Explanation

(This amendment provides $8.1 million GF and 1.0 position the second year to expand the Safer Communities program to the cities of Hampton, Newport News, and Chesapeake with a minimum award of $2.5 million per locality. The amount includes $150,000 for an additional position for the Office of Safer Communities at the Department of Criminal Justice Services and increases from $400,000 to $800,000 the existing contract with the VCU Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs to provide strategic planning evaluation to recipient localities.)
