"P. Out of the appropriation in this Item, $1,500,000 the first year from the general fund is provided to contract with the City of Hampton to stabilize the Battery Commanders tower and repair the boat dock at Fort Wool, a state and national historic site. The department will coordinate with the Department of Wildlife Resources on the timing of the project to (i) avoid the temporary migratory bird nesting season at Fort Wool and (ii) coordinate with the timing of the planned construction of the new migratory bird nesting island being build in conjunction with the Army Corps of Engineers. Any unexpended general fund balances designated for payment to the City of Hampton for the restoration project on June 30, 2025, and June 30, 2026, shall be reappropriated for expenditure for the same purpose."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.5 million GF the first year for the Department of Conservation and Recreation to contract with the City of Hampton to stabilize the Battery Commanders tower and repair the boat dock at Fort Wool, a state and national historic site.)
