"DD. Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year and $150,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to the Virginia Health Care Career and Technical Training and Education Fund to expand the Employer-Led Collective Model program across all of Virginia."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $100,000 GF the first year and $150,000 GF and 9.0 positions the second year for the Virginia Health Care Career and Technical Training and Education Fund (or the Virginia Health Workforce Innovation Fund as proposed by House Bill 1903) to support 9.0 regional directors and statewide management of the Employer-Led Collective Model program. This initiative will help address health workforce shortages, enhance alignment with regional economic priorities, and strengthen the pipeline of qualified healthcare professionals across the Commonwealth. Expanding the model to nine GO Virginia regions is a strategic investment to address Virginia's health workforce challenges while supporting regional economic development goals. The Health Workforce Innovation Fund will enable the Virginia Healthcare Workforce Development Authority to foster collaboration, ensure alignment with employer needs, and produce measurable improvements in workforce readiness and healthcare access statewide. Of this amount, $100,000 is requested in the first year for initial funding to support program expansion to two regions.)
