"D. The Office of Vital Records shall produce a status report to the General Assembly by December 1, 2025, on the progress towards automation of the Office's systems for filing, accepting, transferring, certifying, and storing divorce forms, and other vital records. The report shall explain the steps taken to automate these systems, the remaining steps necessary before automation is complete, and the plan and estimated timeline for automation of the various types of records. The report shall describe any cost savings to be achieved by automation, including reduced procurement costs, reduced need for full-time employees, and cost savings to the Supreme Court of Virginia. The report shall also include a description of revenue needs or other issues delaying or impeding timely completion of the project, if any. The Office shall collaborate with the Office of the Executive Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia as necessary in producing this report."
