Explanation

(This amendment provides $450,000 GF in each year of the biennium to increase dedicated funding for Tick Borne Illness/Lyme Disease research and medical test development. It will scale current test technology to provide rapid, 95% accurate, at-home diagnostics, providing timely diagnosis and treatment of Lyme Disease across the Virginia. This funding is intended to be recurring and would provide one full time nurse and two full time lab technicians to process, analyze and perform tests, lab supplies, and support additional research to continue to refine methods, clinical trials and long term sustainability of this incredible step to combating these forms of tick borne disease.)
