a. Out of this appropriation, $100,300,000 the second year from the general fund is provided for the Virginia School Improvement Grant Program to support schools designated as "Off Track" or "Needs Intensive Support" through three-year grants for the development and implementation of school improvement plans."

b. Of this appropriation, $300,000 is provided for positions at the Department of Education to support the program."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $100.3 million GF and two positions the second year to support the provisions of the proposed Senate Bill 820, which provides support for schools designated as "Off Track" or "Needs Intensive Support" by awarding three-year grants for the development and implementation of school improvement plans. The fiscal impact is a placeholder based on an estimate of $100 per student.)
