"GGG. Out of this appropriation, $250,000 the second year from the general fund is provided for the Virginia Leads Innovation Network (VaLIN) to enable the network to bring together school division teams to explore flexible scheduling models that facilitate dual enrollment opportunities, career pathways, and mastery-based learning."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $250,000 GF in the second year for the Virginia Leads Innovation Network (VaLIN) to bring together 25–30 school division teams to collaboratively explore high school redesign. The initiative focuses on developing flexible learning models that expand dual enrollment opportunities, career pathways, and mastery-based learning, enabling students to access multiple pathways for success. Using action research guided by improvement science and implementation science, VaLIN will identify and implement innovative approaches to help students build the skills and competencies needed for postsecondary education, military service, and the workforce. The network’s findings will establish effective frameworks, processes, and structures that can be scaled and shared across Virginia’s secondary schools, supporting the Governor’s 3E framework (Enrollment, Enlistment, Employment).)
