Explanation

(This amendment provides $12.0 million the second year from the general fund to create alternative placements for Medicaid eligible individuals with dementia who would otherwise need services in state facilities. $7.6 million is directed to develop four pilot sites for individuals with dementia or geriatric individuals who may otherwise be admitted to a state hospital. $4.4 million is also provided to develop five regional multi-disciplinary teams to provide a variety of supportive services to individuals in nursing facilities and assisted living facilities.)
