(This amendment increases the funding for Medicaid graduate medical education residency slots from $100,000 up to $165,000 in order to recruit and retain physicians in comparison to other states. The amendment also increases the funding for residency slots from $50,000 up to $85,000, for those residency programs at a facility whose number of residency slots are above the cap set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) or have exceeded the Upper Payment Limit set by CMS. It also allows the Virginia Workforce Development Authority to distribute the additional funds allocated in the biennial budget.)
