"J. The State Health Commissioner shall reestablish the Task Force on Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures (the Task Force for the purpose of evaluating maternal health data collection processes to guide policies in the Commonwealth to improve maternal care, quality, and outcomes for all birthing people in the Commonwealth. The Task Force shall be modeled after the provisions of Chapter 215, 2021 Special Session I, to consist of similar membership.  The Task Force shall examine the issues outlined in House Bill 781, 2024 Session, which was passed by the General Assembly.  The Task Force shall report its findings and conclusions to the Governor and General Assembly by December 1 of each year regarding its activities."



Explanation

(This amendment adds funding and language directing the Commissioner of Health to reestablish the Task Force on Maternal Health Data and Quality Measures composed similarly to requirements in Chapter 215, 2021 Special Session I and examine issues outlined in House Bill 781, passed by the 2024 General Assembly, but vetoed by the Governor.)
