Explanation
(This amendment adjusts the projected accumulated balance in the federal welfare reform block grant (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, TANF), based on companion amendments that use a portion of the funds. The balance in the year 2000 is projected at $37.6 million rather than $94.9 million proposed in the introduced budget. Language in the introduced budget that would have reserved $20 million in each year of the 1998-2000 biennium is deleted.)
