(This amendment restores funding for geriatric services at Eastern State Hospital. Companion amendments in Items 335, 385, and 386 restore Medicaid, general fund and special fund appropriations to Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. These amendments reverse the proposed actions in the introduced budget to transfer 229 geriatric patients from state hospitals to nursing homes, including the closure of Piedmont by July 1, 1999.)
