Out of this appropriation, the Commissioner shall provide an amount not to exceed $75,000 from the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant to complete the research by the Center for Pediatric Research on variations in the health care delivered to children in the Commonwealth, as directed by Senate Joint Resolution 127 (1998) and House Joint Resolution 180 (1998).  The Center for Pediatric Research shall coordinate its research with the Department of Health."


Explanation
(This amendment provides funding for pediatric research pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 127 and House Joint Resolution 180. The research will focus on factors influencing differences in the pediatric discharge rates by geographic area, the impact of these differences on the quality and outcomes of pediatric care, and the optimal way to publicly disseminate these findings on an ongoing basis.)
