Explanation
(This amendment defers the decision to fund the opening of the Culpeper Juvenile Correctional Center, by reducing the appropriation for this facility by $4,000,000 from the general fund and $1,245,154 from nongeneral funds the first year, and by $7,000,000 from the general fund and $2,128,408 from nongeneral funds the second year, and by 240 positions each year. Sufficient space should be available in other state juvenile correctional facilities to house the projected juvenile offender population. However, a companion amendment to Item 494 provides funds for 56 additional private placement beds to cover any further short-term requirements for juvenile beds, should the need arise.)
