"Out of this appropriation, $100,000 the first year is authorized from the general fund for an evaluation study of the Weed and Seed Program.  The study shall give particular attention to the longitudinal effect of the program in reducing the overall rates of crime in the jurisdictions where the program has been implemented.  An interim report shall be presented to the Chairmen of the Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committee by October 15, 1998, with a final report by July 1, 1999.".

(This amendment provides $100,000 the first year from the general fund for an evaluation of the Weed and Seed program.)
