Explanation
(This amendment provides $112,096 the second year from the general fund to provide one juvenile probation officer who is a certified substance abuse counselor in each of the 32 juvenile court service units. This will be accomplished by upgrading one existing juvenile probation officer position in each court service unit to a senior level and by providing the training required to receive substance abuse counselor certification. This amendment is intended to implement the provisions of House Bill 664 and Senate Bill 317 of the 1998 Session.)
