Explanation
(This amendment eliminates $623,422 the first year from the general fund which was included in the budget, as introduced, for the maintenance of Sussex II State Prison. The budget, as introduced, assumed the opening of this prison would be postponed indefinitely. A companion amendment to this item now provides for opening this facility in October, 1998, using nongeneral funds, as part of the Commonwealth's contract prison bed program.)
