Explanation
(This amendment restores Medicaid funding for Piedmont Geriatric Hospital. Companion amendments in Items 385 and 386 restore general fund and special fund appropriations to Piedmont. These amendments reverse the proposed actions in the introduced budget to transfer 229 geriatric patients from state hospitals to nursing homes, including the closure of Piedmont by July 1, 1999.)
