Explanation
(This amendment ensures funding for annual instructional faculty increases of 6.1 percent, in order to meet the 60th percentile salary objective by fiscal year 2000. The funds will be reduced from those provided for faculty salaries in the budget bill, as introduced, which used a different methodology to calculate the 60th percentile objective, and which assumed lower rates of faculty salary market movement. Administrative and part-time faculty and graduate teaching assistants are funded for increases of 3.1 percent the first year, and 3.3 percent the second year.)
