Page 104, after line 12, insert:
"f.  This appropriation includes $18,953,627 in the first year from the general fund and $19,902,986 in the second year from the general fund for the state's share of Remedial Summer School Programs.  These funds are available to school divisions for the operation of programs designed to remediate students who are required to attend such programs during a summer school session.  Students attending these programs shall not be charged tuition and no high school credit may be awarded to students who participate in this program."


Explanation
(This amendment clarifies the long-standing policy of the Commonwealth that state remedial summer school payments are available for students who are required to attend remedial summer school, and that such students may not be charged tuition, nor earn credit, for such courses.)
