Explanation
(This amendment adds funding for services for severely visually impaired persons who are age 55 and older. Funds would be used to provide low-vision optical aids, talking clocks and watches, other adapted personal care items, coordination of special transportation, minor home modification, and other services. These services would enable these persons to maintain and enhance their independence in the community and reduce the need for more costly in-home or nursing home services.)
