Explanation
(This amendment strikes language and funds for a new office in Norton, which would have administered a new child health insurance program proposed in the introduced budget. Pursuant to House Bill 1074, health insurance for poor children would be provided through expansion of the Medicaid program. Eligibility determinations for Medicaid would continue to be provided by local departments of social services. A companion amendment in Item 335 appropriates the funds deleted in this item as state match to draw additional federal funds for administration and services under Medicaid expansion.)
