"The Center shall, in cooperation with the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services, and Northern Virginia Community Services Boards, continue to evaluate the efficacy of providing medical, dental, and other related support services to severely or profoundly mentally retarded consumers of the Northern Virginia Community Services Boards who may also have physical and behavioral complications.  The Center and the Department shall report on the status of the pilot program to the Chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees by December 15, 1998."


Explanation
(This amendment provides funding to continue the pilot program at Northern Virginia Training Center to provide medical, dental, and other related support services to consumers of the Northern Virginia Community Services Boards who are severely or profoundly mentally retarded with physical and behavioral complications. This amendment is a recommendation of the House Joint Resolution 240 (1996) Joint Subcommittee to Evaluate the Future Delivery of Publicly Funded Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services.)
