Explanation
(This amendment adds funds for two medical scholarships each year for Virginia residents who attend the Pikeville School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky. This expansion will aid in continued development of a high quality health care system in Southwest Virginia by training medical practitioners at nearby medical schools in an effort increase the number of primary care physicians in underserved areas in Southwest Virginia.)
