A. The Department of Military Affairs shall transfer the Chesapeake Armory to the City of Chesapeake at such minimal cost as shall be determined by the Department as necessary and appropriate to recover the actual costs paid by the Department for: (1) the appraisal of the property; (2) any reimbursement required to be paid to the federal government for any ancillary buildings which cannot be removed from the property; and (3) any other incidental costs pursuant to the transfer.


B. As a condition of the appropriation in this item, the General Assembly herewith authorizes and approves the relocation of the Department of Military Affairs headquarters to the Fort Pickett Military Reservation as soon as practical on, or after, June 30, 1998.
