"F. Out of this appropriation, $132,000,000 the first year and $325,000,000 the second year from the general fund is provided as the estimated distribution to localities to backfill the revenue loss from exempting food purchased for human consumption and essential personal hygiene products from the one percent local retail sales and use tax pursuant to passage of Senate Bill 9 of the 2026 General Assembly."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $132.0 million GF the first year and $325.0 million GF the second year for Senate Bill 9, which exempts food purchased for human consumption and essential personal hygiene products from the local one percent sales and use tax beginning January 1, 2027. Senate Bill 9 proposes to provide localities with a state general fund appropriation to backfill the revenue loss.)
