Explanation

(This amendment provides $918,332 the first year and $6.5 million the second year from the general fund and $1.7 million the first year and $12.3 million the second year from nongeneral funds and language authorizing the Department of Medical Assistance Services to seek federal authority to merge the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) program into a single Children's Health Insurance Program children's eligibility group under Medicaid. This merge will create administrative efficiencies and ensure equitable benefits and health care access for all children served in Virginia's medical assistance programs.)
