"QQQQQ. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the State Plan for Medical Assistance Services to eliminate requirements for Substance Use Disorder providers who provide group-based therapy in a preferred Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) facility location from documenting justification for telehealth care coordination services."

Explanation

(This amendment requires the Department of Medical Assistance Services to eliminate burdensome and unnecessary requirements for documentation of telehealth care coordination services by Office-Based Opioid Treatment providers of Substance Use Disorder (SUD) services who provide weekly counseling services to patients. Care coordination may include referrals to other providers, identifying needed support services and maintaining treatment engagement and communication to improve patient outcomes. In addition, this will allow SUD treatment providers to focus on efforts to reach more patients.)
