The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend Title XXI Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) state plan for the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) program to cover individuals age 0-18, replacing current coverage for individuals under the age of 19, pursuant to § 4.1.2.1-PC of the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act of 2009 that sets forth the inclusions for care of all children who upon birth will be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or qualified aliens."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.0 million from the general fund each year for the Department of Medical Services to reimburse for prenatal care services for beneficiaries enrolled in the Family Access to Medical Insurance Security (FAMIS) program ages 0-18 to include the inclusion for care of all children who upon birth will be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or qualified aliens. It also provides funding of prenatal care services for any applicant or enrollee whose mother shall potentially receive Medicaid-eligible emergency medical assistance as provided in state law at the time of delivery.)
