Page 426, after line 17, insert:
 
“7.  It is the intent of the General Assembly that the Virginia Information Technologies Agency shall provide for the establishment and maintenance of a state Web portal, and related eGovernment services, which shall be funded in whole, or in part, from funds available pursuant to § 46.2-214, et seq., of the Code of Virginia.  A portion of such funds shall be used to support state and local agencies by providing hosting and maintenance of Internet based services at no additional or direct cost to such agencies or the citizens served.  All interested and affected agencies of the Commonwealth shall cooperate in the provision of these services, as provided by current policy and practice.  Annually, by October 1, the Virginia Information Technologies Agency shall report to the Governor, and the chairmen of the House Appropriations and Senate Finance Committees the amounts pursuant to this subparagraph and the type and value of services provided.”


Explanation
(This amendment directs VITA to provide for a state Web portal and related eGovernment services funded through charges levied for the resale of individual driving records by the Department of Motor Vehicles.)
