Explanation
(This amendment redirects $509,328 the first year and $509,328 the second year from the general fund that was allotted to reimburse school divisions for the services of special education teachers who provide services to visually impaired students to the Direct Aid to Public Education budget. The Department of Education will be responsible for the reimbursement payments to school divisions. There is a companion amendment in Item 139 that increases the allocation to Direct Aid to Public Education by $5.1 million each year to fully reimburse divisions for these services.)
