Explanation
(This amendment adds $530,318 GF the first year and $1.3 million GF the second year to restore funding for the Comprehensive Health Improvement Program (CHIP). Restoration of funding will allow CHIP to continue providing service to low-income, pregnant women and young children in 27 localities. The program has demonstrated improved birth outcomes, child health, school readiness, and parental work capacity. CHIP of Virginia is a statewide network of local public/private partnerships which provide registered nurses and community outreach workers to visit at-risk families to provide access to a medical home, health supervision and family support for children and pregnant women.)
