Explanation
(This amendment provides one-time start-up funding estimated at $20.6 million based on $50,000 per classroom -- based on 24 students per class -- for the remaining schools with half-day kindergarten programs to convert to full-day kindergarten The funding is divided evenly between the two years of the biennial budget. As of September 2011, there were 9,932 half-day kindergarten students across four school divisions - Loudoun, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, and Frederick.)
