Explanation
(This amendment provides additional funds for Career and Technical Education - Categorical reimbursements to school divisions for CTE occupational prep, adult education, and equipment costs. Currently, the $10.4 million annual appropriation for this purpose covers about 25 percent of school divisions' submitted reimbursements. This amendment begins a phase-in over five years to a level of 50 percent reimbursement. Since this program is currently Lottery-funded, additional general funds would be provided for textbooks, which is currently split-funded between Lottery Proceeds and general funds, so that no other programs are impacted by this amendment.)
