Explanation
(This amendment provides funding in each year to partially restore payment reductions to hospitals and nursing homes contained in the introduced budget. The amendment provides $16.7 million GF the first year and $23.2 million GF the second year and an equal amount of federal Medicaid matching funds to provide an inflationary adjustment of 2.6 percent in FY 2013 for inpatient hospital services. The amendment also provides $15.0 million GF each year and an equal amount of federal Medicaid matching funds to provide an inflationary adjustment for nursing facility services by raising the rates and current ceilings. The amendment also removes language from the introduced budget that proposed to not restore inflation when it is modified or eliminated in prior fiscal years.)
