Explanation
(This amendment reduces the discount in Medicaid rates paid to pharmacies, as proposed in the introduced budget. The current discount is average wholesale price (AWP) minus 9 percent. The introduced budget would have increased the discount to AWP minus 11 percent. This amendment sets the discount at AWP minus 10.25 percent. This action produces general fund savings of $3,806,250 the first year and $4,181,250 the second year, when compared to the current discount rate of AWP minus 9 percent.)
