Explanation
(This amendment eliminates the Jobs for Virginia Graduates program. This is one of a series of amendments that redirects funding from discretionary grant programs to the Standards of Quality to address funding deficiencies cited in the Tier 1 recommendations of the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission report, Review of Elementary and Secondary School Funding.)

This appropriation includes $325,000 the first year and $325,000 the second year from the general fund for the Jobs for Virginia Graduates Program. Of the increased appropriation for the 2002-04 biennium, ten percent of this increase may be used for administrative costs in each year of the 2002-04 biennium.
