"Out of this appropriation, $50,000 the first year and $50,000 the second year from the general fund is provided for Nursing Scholarship Fund established in  § 54.1-3011.2.  These monies shall be used to fund the nursing scholarships for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses established pursuant to § 32.1-122.6:01.”
“Out of this appropriation, $50,000 (GF) is provided in each year of the biennium to be deposited into the Nursing Scholarship Fund established in § 54.1-3011.2.  These monies shall be used to fund the nursing scholarships for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses established pursuant to §32.1-122.6:01.”

Explanation
(This amendment provides funding to replace the $1.00 licensure fee that currently is charged registered nurses and licensed practical nurses to support nursing scholarships. Proposed companion legislation would change the funding mechanism for these scholarships from licensure fees to general fund appropriations, although the Board of Nursing could collect a fee up to $1.00 if sufficient general fund appropriations are not provided for the scholarships. This is a recommendation of the Joint Commission on Health Care.)
