Out of this appropriation, $44,000,000 the first year and $44,000,000 the second year from the general fund shall be provided to provide Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to  certain lawfully present immigrants, such as refugees, asylees, child and adult survivors of violence, and individuals granted humanitarian protections, or any other eligibility group receiving SNAP benefits prior to July 4, 2025."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $44.0 million GF each year to fund SNAP benefits for certain lawfully present immigrants, such as refugees, asylees, child and adult survivors of violence, and individuals granted humanitarian protections, who were receiving benefits prior to the H.R. 1. passage. This amendment replaces previous federal funding such that low-income non-citizens will see no change in available food assistance.)
