Explanation

(This amendment provides an additional $1.5 million GF each year for workforce retention for brain injury services providers. State-contracted brain injury providers report high attrition and difficulty filling open positions because of non-competitive salaries and benefits. Delivery of programs and services are impeded, leading to the inability to meet client needs. Critical services can go unmet or are delayed. The increase in appropriation is needed for workforce retention, to address increasing costs, and to ensure quality accessible services for people living with brain injuries.)
