Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.5 million GF each year to support the expansion of a pilot program for alternative transportation and alternative custody services for individuals under involuntary commitment orders. The funding is associated with Senate Bill 395, which allows retired law-enforcement officers to return to work to execute temporary detention orders and emergency custody orders and provides that certain employees shall be deemed as suitable alternative transportation providers. This is a preliminary estimate while the fiscal impact statement for Senate Bill 395 is completed.)
