Explanation
(This amendment directs the Department of Medical Assistance Service to use $2.1 million NGF the first year and $1.4 million the second year NGF from the Rural Health Transformation Program to support the Connected Care, Closer to Home Initiative at VDH for the acquisition of three mobile health units to serve under resourced areas. This amendment also adds 12 positions to support the effort. The units provide services such as: Family Planning, STI testing, Women’s Health, Vaccinations, Harm Reduction services, and outreach. The initial cost of procuring a unit is a one-time cost of $235,000 with an ongoing operational cost of $24,000 annually and four positions per unit.)
