"QQQQQ. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall amend the State Plan for Medical Assistance under Title XIX to increase the initial income limit for Medicaid Works eligibility to 300 percent of the Supplemental Security Income level. The department shall have the authority to implement these changes effective July 1, 2026, and prior to the completion of any regulatory process to effect such change."

Explanation

(This amendment provides $1.7 million GF and $1.8 million NGF each year to increase the initial income limit for Medicaid Works eligibility to 300 percent of the Supplemental Security Income level to align it with the Medicaid Commonwealth Coordinated Care Plus and Developmental Disability Waiver programs, allowing more working individuals with disabilities to be eligible for the Medicaid Works program. This is a recommendation from the 2024 Recommendations to Improve Access to and Successful Utilization of the Medicaid Works Program report.)
