"QQQQQ. The Department of Medical Assistance Services shall seek federal authority through the necessary waiver(s) to remove the 16 hour daily limit on services provided by consumer-directed attendants providing respite, personal assistance, and companion services. The department shall promulgate emergency regulations to implement this change within 280 days or less from the enactment of this act. The department shall implement this change upon federal approval and prior to the completion of any regulatory process undertaken in order to effect such change."



Explanation

(This amendment provides $8.6 million GF and $9.4 million NGF each year to eliminate the 16 hour daily limit that consumer-directed attendants providing respite service, personal assistance service, and companion service can provide in a day.)
